About Our Team
About Our Team
The backbone of our operation.
We feel that the most important asset of our business is our employees and their ability to satisfy our customers’ automotive repair and service needs. We work hard to provide an enjoyable working atmosphere and pay our Technicians fair wages. We want their number one focus to be on fixing our customers’ vehicles, taking the time that is needed to do the job right, the first time.
In addition, our knowledgeable and friendly service advisors are always ready and quick to help our customers. It is a team effort, and we appreciate the contribution made by each member of our staff.
Jeremy Riopelle
Service Manager
Being service manager at Eastside Auto Service has been a great experience, mainly because I feel we have some of the best customers a shop could ever have. I have been in this industry for over 15 years and I love dealing with people, and helping them to properly maintain their vehicles. I also enjoy the problem solving we are faced with as a team. I work with some of the best trained technicians in the industry, and we have met some pretty tough diagnostics and auto repairs “head on.” Our team atmosphere allows us to collectively brainstorm solutions for the toughest challenges. We also have a very clean, up-to-date facility that makes our work that much easier. As with our technicians, I also keep my training up to date by attending shop management courses through AMI, R. L. O’Connor’s Service Advisor’s Guild, and I also have the distinction of being a service advisor “Superstar” with Elite The Success Tool Company in the United States. I really look forward to meeting you soon. Hey, we may even run into each other on the snowmobile trails, or local race tracks where I race my stock car.
Devin MacDonald
Service Advisor
After graduating from Waterdown District High School, and then Sheridan College, I entered the automotive industry over 18 years ago. I have a lot of experience in all areas of the auto repair industry as I have been an automotive technician, a service advisor, and have even owned my own repair facility. At Eastside Auto I excel at the job of service advisor, as I love the customer interaction it provides. Helping the customer understand what and why certian repairs and maintenance are required on their vehicle, allows me to remove that “scare” factor that can sometimes be part of automotive repair. Dealing with an honest/fair repair facility, whom is really open with everything their customers vehicle requires to get the most out of it for years of safe driving, has enabled me to help our customers tremendously. I also enjoy that Eastside values my family time which allows me to enjoy the fishing, boating, camping, and photography interests I have. I look forward to meeting with you upon your visit for your next auto repair or maintenance needs.
Benny Spatafora
Sales and Leasing Division
My name is Ben Spatafora and as an Independent Automotive Salesperson Professional with over 25 years experience I am extremely pleased to join Glenn Colling and his service team at Eastside Auto Service. I have been asked to help Glenn supply his long list of customers with automotive choices both for NEW and Pre-Owned Cars, Trucks and Vans.
My experience and personal exposure has included owning and operating Canada’s ONLY Exclusive Exotic Daily Car Rental Business in the mid 80s, featuring cars such as Ferraris, Porsches, BMWs, Cadillac, Jaguars and Mercedes Benz. I have also been involved in the buying and selling of all types of cars at all price levels both at the retail and wholesale levels for the domestic and international markets.
In addition to this experience, I’m proud to say that I’m a Humber College Graduate from their Accountancy/Business Program which has provided a sound base in order to succeed in a business environment.
I am very fortunate to have found a career that really is an extension of one of my passions and that of course is cars, and as a resident of Oakville along with my wife and our 2 sons I can offer an extra level of service being close to Eastside Auto Service. Throughout the years I have seen thousands of Automobile Sales and Service businesses and without a doubt, I can say that Eastside Sales and Service stands at the top of their field. Their care, concern and professional attitude towards their customers is what separates Eastside from their peers and as their logo suggests “Excellence in Auto Care” is the outstanding feature that attracted me to Eastside.
Hopefully, with the help of Glenn’s team, I’ll be able to continue the tradition of “Excellence in Auto Sales” and I hope to meet many of Glenn’s customers in the coming months. Of course please feel free to contact me with any of your car needs.
Shawn Skerry
Diagnostician / Electronics Technician
As I was asked to write my bio, it came to me that I have been with Eastside Auto Service for over 21 years! WOW, where has the time gone? I can tell you there have been a lot of changes in the industry, but Eastside continues to upgrade information and equipment to allow me to work efficiently on all types of vehicles. We are even seeing more and more Hybrid vehicles coming through the door. I have been in this industry for 30 years in total, and the things I like most about it are the challenges of being able to diagnose problems, getting to the root of the issue, and finding the answers to effectively repair the vehicle. I specialize in electronic and driveability diagnosis as well as air conditioning diagnosis and repair. I possess several certifications/training certificates that allow me to work on systems that not all technicians can. This has allowed me to become one of the “go to” guys in the shop, and I like the comradery that this allows me to have with my fellow employees. When I am not at work enjoying my time with the guys, I love to be spending my time at home with my family and visiting with good friends.

I have been in the automotive service business for over 32 years, 17 of those with Eastside Auto Service. As a graduate of Centennial College of Applied Arts & Technology, I am the front end and alignment specialist with numerous certifications of achievement to my credit. I enjoy my chosen field as the many new advancements in technology keep the trade interesting, and I always keep myself up to date with all these changes. Eastside Auto has always been a very family oriented place of business with excellent leadership and friendly coworkers who are always willing to help each other out. The strong leadership ensures that the customers’ vehicles are properly maintained. Outside of work I like to go fishing, especially on my holidays. I also enjoy playing darts and dabble with inventions.
Alan Cathcart
Automotive Service Technician
I have been working with Eastside Auto Service for over three years. I really enjoy coming to work with such a great team of people. I thrive for the diagnostic and repair challenges presented to me daily, that allow me to consistently learn and further my knowledge and education in the vehicle repair industry. I attend school at Mohawk College which allows me to keep in touch with automotive technology advancements so that I can do my best for the customers we serve. My top three interests in this field are air conditioning repair, welding, and I have an edge for electronic diagnostics. I feel I am in the right environment at Eastside Auto as they encourage continuous training to be sure we are all striving to be the best in our field. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with good friends, and I really like to work on performance vehicles.
Adam Lemay
Automotive Service Technician
I have been diagnosing and reparing vehicles for over 7 years. As a graduate of Mohawk College, I enjoy the challenges that the automotive repair industry has presented me with. I enjoy exhaust fabrication, mig welding, and general automotive repair. The thing I like most about this trade is being able to work with my hands, which has enabled me to fullfill my interests of car restoration, and I have a pretty good handle of a hockey stick as well. There is a great team atmosphere at Eastside Auto which makes the daily challenges of diagnosing and repairing vehicles a lot of fun. Speaking of fun, I also love hitting the slopes on my snowboard in the winter.
Andrew Scott
Automotive Service Technician
I have just entered the automotive repair industry after completing my pre-apprenticeship training courses at the Automotive Training Centre in Mississauga. I am looking forward to my first year of apprenticeship training. Since I have just begun my career, every day is a learning experience and I am striving to learn as much as I can. Bar far the best thing about working with Eastside Auto is the people I work with. From the tech’s, to the front office staff, to the “Big Man” himself. I learn so much from my coworkers, and they are always willing to help with any questions which makes working here so enjoyable. In my spare time I really enjoy music and play both the guitar and bass. I love playing hockey and working on Volkswagens.
