Community Involvement
Eastside Auto Service has been in Oakville since 1969. For our 50th anniversary, we decided to give back to our Oakville community to show our appreciation for 50 years of support. Each month for the 2019 year we chose a different charity in our Oakville community to donate to. Posted below are pictures and information on each organization we were able to support in 2019!
Safetynet Children and Family Charities
We were very excited to be giving our month of April donation to Safetynet Charities. Safetynet takes in donated clothes, dishes, and furniture to give to families living under the poverty line. They then will contact families who have reached out for help and book in a time that they can come and ‘shop’ for items they need but cannot afford. Safetynet also provides free tutoring and music lessons to children in families who otherwise could not afford it. One of their primary beliefs is that education can help to support children and families out of poverty. Safetynet has helped more than 3300 families in the Oakville and Halton regions to date! If you are interested in donating or in learning more about Safetynet, check out their website and social media pages!
Kerr Street Mission
In March 2019 we were so blessed to be able to support Kerr Street Mission. Kerr Street mission provides care and compassion to members of our Oakville community in need. They provide services and programs to at-risk children and families to help those living in poverty in Oakville. They provide kids programs to help increase their success with school, work and relationships. Kerr Street Mission also provides food and meal programs to families and connects those at the need for community services. Learn more about Kerr Street Mission on its website and social media pages!
Lighthouse for Grieving Children
February 2019’s donation was given to Lighthouse Oakville. The exceptional work Lighthouse has been doing for families over the past 20 years is nothing short of amazing. The Lighthouse is a not-for-profit counseling center for children and families who have experienced the death of a family member or close friend. They have to support groups for children anywhere between age 3-19, as well as counseling and education programs for adult family members. Check out their website and social media pages to learn more about this incredible organization!
Oakville/Milton Humane Society
In January 2019 we were able to donate to the Oakville and Milton Humane Society. The Humane Society takes in lost, abandoned or abused animals and cares for them until their owners are found or a new home has been found for them. The Humane Society has space for approximately 200 animals and also offers support services such as cruelty investigations and 24-hour emergency services. They are a not-for-profit organization that runs off of the donations it receives. The Oakville/Milton Humane Society was founded in 1936 and has supported and served the community ever since!
